Curtis H. Williams

Curtis H. "Sleepy" Williams, 85, of Du Quoin, passed away at 10:00 P.M., Sunday, November 14, 2004 at the Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin.
Sleepy was a foreman for the Zeigler Coal Company.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Du Quoin and the Plumbers and Pipefitters Union.
He was born October 4, 1919 at Hallidayboro, IL, the son of Curtis D. and Opal (Walters) Williams.
He married Theo Gross on April 19, 1939 and she preceded him in death on November 9, 1989.
He is survived by one daughter - Donna Davison and husband Duke of Du Quoin, two grandsons - Isaac Davison and Luke Davison both of Du Quoin, three sisters - Dorothy Jackson of Herrin, Reba Woodside of Du Quoin, Pauline Crofford of Du Quoin, and two brothers - Donnie Williams of Du Quoin, and Kenneth Williams of Mulkeytown.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one son - Phillip Williams, two grandsons - Jeffrey Williams and Lucas Davison and several brothers and sisters.
Private family graveside services were held Wednesday, November 17, 2004 at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Du Quoin.
Interment was in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to the American Heart Association. Searby Funeral Home in Du Quoin was in charge of arrangements.
